In compliance with the regulations of the Historic District, the owner of this home retained the original front and sides while undergoing a thoughtful renovation designed by architect Allard Ward. The addition involved the construction of a second story atop the existing portion of the home.
To enhance the living space, a substantial addition was made to the back of the home. This extension incorporated a spacious kitchen and a covered sunroom, providing a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living. The design included an outside patio complete with a dedicated grilling area, contributing to the overall appeal of the home.
Below the sunroom, a practical and convenient addition took the form of a 3-car garage. This not only provided ample parking space but also added functionality to the property.
The project demonstrates a careful balance between preserving the historical aspects of the home and introducing modern amenities, resulting in a harmonious blend of old and new within the context of the Historic District.
